Jeroen Doorenbos started as a medical student at the University of Groningen.

In the student house where he went to live, he met Jeroen Elkhuizen. The two clicked and decided to start a web shop together. Jeroen was just 21 at the time. Their company, Metjelaptoponline.nl, sold mobile internet for laptops.

After two years, they rebranded to Belsimpel.nl.
Today, Belsimpel sells over 1 million phones per year—and they've done it all without any external investors.
